ISHPEMING — A staple in Ishpeming just turned 5, and celebrated that birthday over the weekend.

Friends and community members gathered to celebrate the nail salon’s anniversary, and what it means to the family that owns it.

“I decided with my family that we were going to put on an event and make it fun,” said Sarah Garver, owner of the nail salon. “[We’d] have vendors that everyone loved, and give back to the community that’s given to me in the past 5 years.”

Since first opening in Ishpeming, the nail salon has seen an impressive expanse in business.

At the celebration was cornhole, henna tattoos, nail polish, food and drinks, as well as many other activities.

If the turnout for this anniversary is any indication, then Native Nails will have similar celebrations for years to come.
