Iron Mountain man charged with five counts of child sexually abusive material

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain Police Department, after the issuance of an arrest warrant by Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa Richards, has arrested Marc Gauthier. This lengthy investigation stems from an incident that occurred in September of 2016 at a local Iron Mountain motel.

Gauthier, 52 years of age, is currently in the custody of the Michigan Department of Corrections for unrelated previous convictions from 2016. Gauthier was charged with the following ten felonies as well as a habitual offender notice, arraigned in 95-B District Court and returned to the custody of the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Gauthier was charged with five Counts of Computers – Using to Commit a Crime which is a felony with a punishment of 7 Years and/or $5,000.00. He is also being charged with five Counts of Child Sexually Abusive Material – Possession, which is also a felony that carries a punishment of 4 Years and/or $10,000.00. He also was given a habitual offender — fourth offense notice after being arrested for multiple other felonies.
