MARQUETTE TWP. — One long–time community hot–spot is official back open for business after closing in late 2017.

Located right on the edge of Marquette, Phil’s 550 Store is ready to continue catering to those in the area. Just because the store is under new ownership, some things are still the same aside from renovating the inside to make it open and updated.

The longest part of the process to get the store back open was getting the liquor license transfer.

“The store is a special place for a lot of people. It’s the last stop on one of the most beautiful drives in Marquette County. It feels good to bring it back to the people and have it be here. Everyone has a lot of memories of Phil and of the store and it’s a special place here in Philville” said Phil’s 550 General Manager, Ross Johnson.

The goal is to keep the late owner, Phil Pearce’s memory alive.

Since their opening on Saturday, May 11, the community response has been overwhelming positive with people coming in to buy beer and pop, but mostly to see what has been done to the place.
