UP Health Systems-Bell holds basket drawings in honor of Nurses Week
ISHPEMING — In honor of National Nurses Week and Hospital Week, UP Health Systems – Bell is holding a drawing for gift baskets.
The basket raffle, that’s been going on for 3 years, is put on by Bell employees and hosted by Bell Auxiliary.
Each department within the hospital has created a basket and chosen a local organization to donate the basket’s proceeds to.
“So we really like to just bring some comradery in the hospital, and it’s just a lot of fun and we’re giving back at the same time, so it’s a win–win. Last year, I believe that we raised over $5,000 in total” said Volunteer Services Coordinator, Julie Solka.
Tickets to enter the raffle are $1 each and they can be purchased in the Gift Shop or Human Resources Office of UPHS – Bell. The drawing will happen on Friday, May 17th at noon.
Some of the organizations that were chosen by the departments are below:
- Ishpeming Fire Relief Fund

- Room at the Inn
