MARQUETTE — One local church is making sure everyone in the community has a place to be on Sunday.

The First Baptist Church in Marquette will be hosting a free community brunch for Easter.

The church held something similar during Christmas and wanted to extend the hospitality for this holiday as well.

“So we thought, let’s extend another major holiday where we can really include people that may not have somewhere to go, that need a place to be with community on a special day, on a holiday” said First Baptist Church Pastor, Chad Mager. “Our people love to cook, so everyone’s pitching in to bring something and making this a big meal where we can welcome people in the community”

The address to First Baptist Church is 728 West Kaye Avenue in Marquette; brunch will start at noon and go until 2 p.m.

The church is also providing transportation for those who need a ride to the meal, the number to the church is 906-226-2014. If you would like a ride, leave a message at the church office and they’ll arrange for someone to pick you up and take you home.
