Single vehicle personal injury accident on US-41
NEGAUNEE — At approximately 2:30 pm on this date, officers of this department were dispatched to a single vehicle personal injury accident on US-41 near the intersection of Teal Lake Ave.
Investigation revealed that a 1990 Dodge van, driven by David Schultz of Champion, was eastbound and had just crossed the intersection when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck the snowbank, and rolled on its side, coming to rest in the eastbound lane.
Mr. Schultz was not injured in the accident and was able to be extricated through the windshield opening of his van.
Mr. Schultz was found at fault in the crash and it remains under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were the Negaunee Fire Dept, Michigan State Police, UPHS EMS, and Antilla’s Wrecker Service.
