MARQUETTE —

This afternoon, Travel Marquette opened their art and writing exhibit in honor of National Poetry Month.

Art Speaks is an interactive display presented by the Marquette Poets Circle and Travel Marquette.

Each piece of artwork has a QR code where viewers can scan the code to hear and see the authors work online.

They opened the exhibit by holding a reception and reading by the authors.

“So we felt like it would be a great venue to have local artists, all sorts of different artists coming in and showing their work here because we have visitors coming through year–round. So we thought it would be a great idea” said the Executive Director of Travel Marquette, Susan Estler.

The participating authors and artists are all from the Marquette area.

The display will be up until the end of April at Travel Marquette.

Travel Marquette is located at 117 W. Washington St., in Downtown Marquette, and they are open weekdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
