MARQUETTE –St. Vincent de Paul Society has a new Executive Director for the Diocesan Council of Marquette.
Ellen Sargent has recently stepped into this new position, as Lori Schmidt plans on retiring after 13 years.
Sargent previously was mall manager at the Westwood Mall for 27 years.
Sargent has been a devout catholic her entire life and in her free time she volunteered with catholic organizations.
“When people see “vinny’s” that’s the face to a lot of people at St Vincent de Paul. It’s shopping at these stores that support the real work. It’s catching people, catching people as they fall and helping them back up,” said Ellen Sargent, Executive Director for the Diocesan Council.
Today was also St Vincent de Paul’s Spring Fling with all the new spring clothing items out on display.
St Vincent de Paul also wants to remind people what you purchase at the thrift store, your money will stay in the community.
