MARQUETTE — Today is the official launch of a new way to buy tickets online from Northern Michigan University. The new layout of the website is designed to make the ticket buying experience easier and more streamlined for customers.

There will be some new features available to customers but the new site, which has taken months of work to get up and running, is all about convenience.

“So anywhere from selecting to your seat, looking at the view from your seat is new for our customers, and then the check–out process,” said Robin Burke, the Associate Athletic Director of Finance and Business Operations. “You simply throw those seats into your shopping cart and put in a payment method, and you can have the tickets texted to your mobile device via email or PDF.”

The new system is currently up and running, but people will still be able to purchase tickets in person at ticket booths if they choose. In addition to the feature that allows you to see the view from your seat, a new feature will allow you to text a ticket to others.

NMU not only sells tickets to all of it’s own sporting and entertainment events, but also provides this service to other events and organizations around the community, and Burke says they make sure they provide people to help facilitate the ticket taking process at those events.
