Car maintenance while driving in winter weather

MARQUETTE COUNTY — Auto part stores, dealerships, and repair shops are seeing common cold related issues that are affecting U.P. drivers.

These issues include car batteries dying and gas tanks freezing due to low fuel and extreme cold weather. It is always important to get your car checked in the fall or beginning of winter.

If you don’t then it may be very costly and dangerous if you were to break down on snow covered roads.

“You know when you wait to the last minute and then you got to call that tow truck then it gets very expensive,” said Service Manager at FOX Negaunee, Mark Miller. “And if you are standing outside, you can’t stand outside in this weather very long.”

If you believe your car may be having these issues, then it may be time to take it in to a shop to get checked out.
