IRON MOUNTAIN — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, responded to a one-vehicle person injury crash on January 9, 2019.

The crash happened around 3:55 p.m. at Highway US-2 near Fire Tower Rd. in Crystal Falls Township.

The driver of the vehicle was a 27-year-old Amasa woman.

After investigation, it was determined that the woman was traveling eastbound when the she crossed the center line, nearly striking a westbound vehicle head-on.

The woman over corrected, causing her to lose control and drive off the roadway.

The vehicle rolled over multiple times with the driver being ejected.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Aspirus Hospital, Iron River with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The driver was also not wearing a seatbelt.

Assisting at the scene were Iron County Sheriff’s Department and Aspirus Ambulance.
