MUNISING — After half a year of operating under new management, the MediLodge of Munising held their grand opening celebration Tuesday afternoon.

Back in February, the nursing and therapy facility underwent ownership changes, and many staff members agree it has been a smooth transition. New therapy options including speech are now available, serving not only permanent residents, but for those who also need recovery time.

One of the many residents told ABC 10 just how happy she’s been at the facility over the last 5 years.

“I would like to say how nice it is to be someplace, where when you need help, and you feel helpless yourself, you’re with people who are willing to come and give you a hand with what you need,” said resident, Lydia Hulla.

Celebrations Tuesday afternoon included a luncheon and raffle prizes, and featured a performance by Pierre Ogea Entertainment.
