MARQUETTE — The Lions Field Recreational Area will be hosting the 8th annual Marquette township Community Day on Saturday, August 4th.

The event begins at noon and goes until 10 p.m.

“The whole idea basically is just to get people out and get to know each other. Break down some of the barriers that there are and come together as a community and make things better” said Marquette Charter Township Manager, Randy Girard.

“It’s so much fun that Marquette township is so active” said Chairman of Events Committee, Todd Nordyk.  “It’s one of the fastest growing townships in the state of Michigan and here’s a wonderful festival.”

There will be live music, food, games, face painting and both the fire and sheriff’s department with some of their equipment.

They also ask that pet be left at home unless they are service pets due to conflict from last year.
