17th annual Marquette Blueberry Festival coming this weekend
MARQUETTE COUNTY — The 17th annual Marquette Blueberry Festival will be taking place this coming Friday in the Downtown Marquette area.
The event will start at 10 and go until 7 pm, where anyone will be able to enjoy all the festivities. Front and Washington streets will have vendors, activities and even music throughout the day.
Downtown restaurants will be providing various blueberry styled dishes. This will include blueberry pizza to blueberry beer and many downtown shops will be offering “blue” specials.
Every year it seems to be getting more popular as more and more tourists as well as residence start to join in on the festivities.
“A lot of people will be coming in for the event,” said Executive Director Travel Marquette, Susan Estler. “It is a very popular event here in the city of Marquette. We have seen an increase of visitors into this center and they have been asking for more information about the festival.”
