NEGAUNEE — The weather on Saturday is projected to be sunny and in the 80s. It’s a perfect day to play some kickball and raise some money.

The Marquette County Health Department is hosting the “Kick Drugs out of Town” Kickball Tournament in coalition with Marquette County Cares. The event is sponsored by many local organizations, and is used to raise funds for prevention work in Marquette County.

“One of our themes is community, to get together and be role models and show that there are alternatives to drugs,” said MCHD Finance Officer Bill Matson. “There are good activities our there, and we need to keep positivity going. And it’s all good for the community.

The event will be Saturday, July 14th from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. at Tourist Park  Community members ages five to 95 can register for the tournament for just $10. In addition to the tournament, there will be face painting, some side games, prizes and more.
