Escape Room teaches kids team building skills

ISHPEMING — Today the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library hosted their first Escape Room part of their summer reading program.

This Harry Potter themed room is intended for tweens and teens.

The premise of the room is the school year has ended at Hogwarts, but their tickets to get on the train and go home were hidden.

The kids have to find the clues and solve the puzzle to find their ticket back home.

All while learning the idea of team building.

“I think team building is a skill we can all work on at any point of our life. It definitely comes in handy in many different iterations. Home, family, work, friendship. It’s just a great idea to know how to interact with people especially strangers in this case,” said Jesse Shirtz, Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library Director.

The next Escape Room at the library is planned for July 12th.
