Rededication Ceremony to all Veterans

MARQUETTE — On July 4th the American Legion Post 44 celebrate’s America’s birthday at the Veteran’s Memorial Mall every year.

They also do a Rededication Ceremony to all the veterans that fought for our freedom.

The keynote speaker in today’s event was the Mayor David Ceampana who happens to be a Veteran.

The program included a Wreath Presentation by Auxiliary Unit 44 President and the first Vice President as well as a 21 gun salute.

This ceremony isn’t as much for the veterans themselves, its for the community, the families and the friends.

“A solider, a Sailor, a Air Man, a Marine, a Coast Guardsman. They don’t act alone, they have support from their community and their family. That’s what we see here today, more community and family members,” said Michael Trickey, Past Commander of American Legion Post 44.

The program ended with cold beverages at the American Legion Post 44.
