ISHPEMING — The Summer Reading Program kicks off at Carnegie Library in Ishpeming.
The summer reading program gives kids an opportunity to keep reading while they’re off from school. This challenges kids to make reading goals. It’s important for kids to be able to view reading in a positive way and learn different types of reading.
“I think it gives them an opportunity to view reading as a really fun experience. When they start school back up, they’re not having to transition from having their brain turned off for the summer. They are still fired up and ready to go and I think it gives them a transition into the school year a little easier,” said Kelsey Boldt, Assistant Liberian.
They have programs for kids of all different ages. For more information on the summer reading program click HERE.
