GWINN — Rain or shine, there will be plenty to do this weekend, including one of the summer’s biggest events.

The 2018 Great Lakes Rodeo is set to happen this Father’s Day Weekend at the Marquette County Fair. There will be performances at 7 P.M. on Saturday and 3 P.M. on Sunday, with pony pulls, team roping and more. Both days will be supporting law enforcement, as well as the fight against breast cancer. There will also be plenty of merchandise and carnival food. The weather should not be a problem for the rodeo.

“We’re here rain or shine, so we hope everybody else is, too. The rain is just going to water down the arena, so it’s not dusty for all of the spectators,” said Caitlyn Havelka, a Great Lakes Rodeo Princess. “So that will be a good thing. We’ve got a new ring up here, so we’re going to have stuff going on up by the barns and down by the arena, so there will be lost going on, lots to watch.”

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children at the gate. Fathers can go for free with their families on Sunday.
