MUNISING — It looks like it will be a nice weekend in the U.P. It’s a great time to go to Munising for one of their biggest events.

The sixth annual Pictured Rocks Days is taking place this weekend at Munising’s Bayshore Park. The event is in collaboration with “Yoopers Ride Free,” an event put on by Pictured Rocks Cruises at which Upper Peninsula residents can take the cruise at no cost.

Pictured Rocks Days kicks off the tourist season in Munising.

“We want to give people the opportunity to find out more about Munising and spend time here, whether it’s Pictured Rocks, down at the park at the festival, walk around downtown, check out the shops, maybe go to some waterfalls, maybe do some driving around, that type of thing,” said Alger County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kathy Reynolds. “So it is a really good thing for Munising and the area.”

There are a limited number of free tickets available for the Pictured Rocks Cruises. There will be music, food vendors, kayak demos, and other attractions.
