TORCH LAKE TOWNSHIP — One man is dead after he fell while sightseeing in Torch Lake Township Monday morning.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post responded to a report that a male had fallen while sightseeing at Hungarian Falls with family. A witness said that he slipped, and then fell approximately 80 feet.

The man, later identified as 83 year-old Lloyd Gremeaux from Indiana, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers were assisted by Mercy EMS, Bootjack First Responders, Dollar Bay First Responders, Hubbell Fire Department and Calumet Township Fire and Rescue.
