MARQUETTE — The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is hosting another forum in their Wildlife through Forestry series at Northern Michigan University.

This month’s forum follows the April session relating to raptors. The sessions link wildlife topics to the numerous ways animal habitats may be developed and enhanced for a range of species on private lands. The topic for this month’s forum is Songbirds.

“It’s a great time to do it, because May is when spring migration of birds is in full force and they’re returning to these forest lands,” said DNR Public Information Officer John Pepin. “A lot of people are out looking for them, it’s an exciting time of the year for bird watchers, because of all the warblers and their bright colors. Breeding colors are coming back to the area.”

The forum will feature three biologists who specialize in their fields. The forum will be held at NMU’s University Center Thursday from 6–9 P.M.
