Grand reopening of Peter White Children’s Library

MARQUETTE — After days of moving, the Peter White Children’s Library’s temporary location is now open.

Monday was the grand reopening of the children’s library at the Westwood Mall. This will be their temporary location for the next 4–6 months while renovations go on in the lower level of the Peter White Library.

Kids have already come in this morning to play with the trains and books; parents have picked up some books as well.

“I am just excited that we will be able to provide children’s services to the community. This is definitely an ideal situation, this allows us to do our big programs and be able to do our whole summer reading program. We will be able to do story times, we have a lot of the collection here,” said Sarah Rehborg, Youth Services Librarian.

With the move, their hours are slightly different.

The new hours are:

Monday-Thursday: 9:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M.

Friday: 9:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.

Saturday: 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.

Sunday: CLOSED

Even though it can be a farther drive for some people they encourage everyone to get their kids in the summer reading program.
