GLADSTONE — The dry warm weather has caused yet another brush fire.

Officers and volunteer firefighters from Gladstone public safety were dispatched to US-2/41 near 9th Street in Gladstone for a brush fire. Within minutes of dispatch, the fire had burned approximately an acre of grass.

Crews stayed on the scene for about 45 minutes. Delta County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police assisted in knocking down the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but officials suspect a burnt cigarette may have attributed to the fire.
