PWPL Youth Services making progress on move to Westwood Mall

MARQUETTE — Staff at the Peter White Library have been working tirelessly since Saturday to get moved over to a new temporary location in the Westwood Mall.

The Youth Services area is taking a break from programming this month to accommodate for the move. Next month, they will be kicking it off with summer reading.

“It’ll pretty much be business as normal when it comes to children’s programs starting June 9th. We will have our story times, we’ll have our big programs, we’ll have our summer reading program. We are going to try to do a little more outside this year, even before we knew we were moving. We planned on taking a story time on Thursday mornings to Lower Harbor park, that is still happening. So you’ll be able to find us here in town on Thursdays,” said Sarah Rehborg, youth services librarian.

So far, progress has been impressive and they are expecting to be moved in by Monday, May 7th. The Peter White Library is looking forward to getting kids back in the library and getting books back in their hands.

The hours of the location at the Westwood Mall will be different than the library. Starting May 7th, the PWPL Children’s Branch at the Westwood Mall will have the following hours:

  • Monday– Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed
