UPDATE: Police investigating possible break-in at Elaine’s Place Convenience Store

UPDATE: Friday, April 20th at 9:45 a.m.

The City of Ishpeming Police Department have released surveillance footage of the breaking and entering at Elaine’s that took place early Tuesday morning.

The videos show two suspects wearing hoodies entering the store just before 1:30 a.m. Investigators say cigarettes and vodka were stolen.

Officers are asking that anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Ishpeming Police at (906) 486-4416. The investigation is ongoing.


ISHPEMING — Police are investigating a possible break-in at a convenience store in Ishpeming.

At approximately 2:16 a.m. Tuesday, the City of Ishpeming Police Department responded to Elaine’s Place Convenience Store on Vine Street for an alarm. When the officers arrived to the scene, they discovered that the front door to the store had been broken and it appeared that someone may have entered the store.

The store was searched by officers, but did not find anyone inside. Officers were able to follow footprints to a residence on Maple Street leading from Elaine’s.

Three subjects have been identified as people of interest. The subjects were interviewed and released.

It is uncertain at this time if anything was taken from the store. The investigation is ongoing. No more information is being released at this time.

Negaunee Police Department and the Michigan State Police assisted on the scene.
