Ishpeming School Board discusses funding for tennis courts

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming school board is one step closer to a new Tennis Courts.

On Monday night, the school board approved the amendment to lease for a possible DNR Grant.

The new Tennis Court would not only benefit the Ishpeming High School, but also the community.

“If we can gain the money to repair the tennis courts, it will create more useable tennis courts. They are very cracked and very dilapidated right now. We risk the possibility of an injury of a student or community member. It will benefit both the community that uses the tennis courts and our students,” said Superintendent, Carrie Meyer

The Tennis Courts would be left open all day during light hours for any individual to use them, as long as it does not interfere with tennis practice or a tennis meet.
