Sayklly’s leaving Westwood Mall at end of the month

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A staple to both the Westwood Mall and Marquette County as a whole is shutting its door after more than two decades of business.

Sayklly’s in the Westwood Mall announced that they will close for good on March 31st. The owners plan to retire after owning the store for 26 years and thought that this was the right time.

“A big thank you to Marquette, Marquette County, the U.P. We’ve had a great following of good customers that have become great friends and they will be missed,” said Bob Gauthier, store manager of the Marquette location. “It’s time to move on. Everybody who’s been retired has told me it’s the best job they’ve ever had, so I’m looking forward to it, but we will miss the people.”

In the last few weeks, Sayklly’s is offering 40 percent off merchandise, 50 percent off all merchandise that says “Marquette” and 50 percent off sugar free candy, as well as 70 percent off Christmas/Halloween/Fall merchandise. Gauthier said the store may be offering more deals as the closing date gets closer.

Although this location is closing, Sayklly’s candy is still available online HERE and at the Escanaba locations.
