WASHINGTON, D.C. — Jim Iwanicki, Engineer-Manager of the Marquette County Road Commission, testified before Congress Thursday afternoon.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Interior, Energy, and Environment held a hearing titled, “An Examination of Federal Permitting Processes.”  The hearing focused on National Environmental Policy Act and the Clean Water Act.

Iwanicki discussed the commission’s experience trying to win approval for County Road 595. The Marquette County Road commission has been working since 2012 to achieve approval for County Road 595, but hit several road blocks from the Environmental Protection Agency.
