Man and woman arrested for unarmed robbery found not guilty
MARQUETTE — A man and woman accused of unarmed robbery in April of 2017 were found not guilty on Wednesday.
The three-day jury trial for Justin Leppanen and Jordan Olander concluded in Marquette County Circuit Court Wednesday. A jury of twelve delivered the not guilty verdict after their deliberations.
The trial comes from an incident on April 26th, 2017. Police responded to the area of Pearl Street and First Street in Ishpeming on the report of a woman having a seizure.
The victim told police she was waiting for Mama Mia’s to open to order a pizza when she was pushed to the ground from behind. The victim said the two suspects took the contents of her purse and fled the area.
Both Olander and Leppanen have been cleared of all charges.
