Man awaiting trial found living under false name in New Mexico
TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, New Mexico — U.S. Marshalls arrested 59-year-old Michael Keith Burns at the request of the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office. Burns was to appear in Chippewa County Circuit Court for a Criminal Sexual Conduct offense in August of 2017 when he disappeared.
Less than a month ago, the Chippewa County Sheriff’s office received a tip that Burns was living under a false name in New Mexico.
Burns was extradited back to Michigan and is now awaiting his original trial, and will also face the Absconding charges.
