MARQUETTE — Students from Northern Michigan University’s Dance and Music Departments are preparing for a joint concert, which will bring the groups together for an amazing showcase.

The 2018 NMU Dance Concert begins on Thursday night, and features a choreographic collaboration by dance instructor, Jill Grundstrom, and the NMU Arts Chorale under the direction of Dr. Erin Colwitz. A few selections and pieces were even choreographed by the students themselves. Also joining the Northern students is the TaMaMa Dance Company, among others.

“So, this is the first Dance Concert with us being connected to theatre – we had previously been in Health and Human Performance,” said NMU Dance Instructor, Jill Grundstrom.  “They were so lovely to us, but we’re happy to be with the performance group over here.”

The concert has three performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week at the Forest Roberts Theatre at 7:30pm, and one matinee showing at 1pm on Saturday. Tickets can be found online, through any NMU EZ Ticket Office, or at the door.
