Marquette woman arrested after police standoff arraigned on assault charge

MARQUETTE — The suspect arrested for pointing a firearm at police officers while they were performing a well–being check has been arraigned in Marquette County District Court.

Thirty–one year–old Lorin Elise Rochon has been charged with felonious assault with a dangerous weapon. On Friday, February 9th, Marquette Police officers arrived at Woodview Apartments at 200 Northland Drive for a well–being check on Rochon.

Before the officers arrived at her door, Rochon opened the door and pointed the firearm at the officers. Michigan State Police Troopers and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene. Rochon eventually turned the firearm over to a third party.

She was lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $150,000 cash/surety bond. Rochon is scheduled to appear back in court for a probable cause hearing on February 28th.
