UPDATE: Police make arrest in Marquette standoff

UPDATE: Monday, February 12th at 4:00 p.m.

The Marquette Police Department arrived at an apartment complex located at 200 Northland Drive for a well-being check on 31 year-old Marquette resident Lorin Elise Rochon.

Prior to officers arriving at her door, Rochon opened the door and pointed a firearm at police officers. Marquette Police requested further assistance. Members of the Michigan State Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department soon arrived to the scene.

Rochon eventually turned the firearm over to a third party. The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a warrant for Rochon for felonious assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Marquette Police Department arrested Rochon on the warrant on Monday. She is lodged at the Marquette county Jail with bond set at $150,000 cash/surety.


UPDATE: Friday, February 9th at 8:50pm

At this time, the officers have cleared the scene and the situation has been mitigated without incident.

MARQUETTE — At approximately 3:30pm Friday afternoon, the Marquette Police Department arrived at the Woodview Apartments on Northland Drive for a well being check on a female individual.

Contact was made with the individual at the residence at which time the officers perceived a threat. Officers then requested further assistance, at which time members of the Michigan State Police and the Marquette County Sheriff’s arrived to assist.

Marquette City Police Officers set up a perimeter around the area. Police remain on scene at this hour and the incident is still under investigation.
