Man arrested in connection with scrap yard embezzlement investigation
CHIPPEWA COUNTY — The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with an embezzlement complaint filed by a Dafter scrap yard in June of 2017.
After an investigation that has been ongoing since 2015, police arrested 32 year-old Lee Alexander Heck on January 12th for embezzling approximately $68,000 from Reid Metals, Inc.
Deputies executed a search warrant at Heck’s home and seized numerous items in connection with the embezzlement. Authorities also located prescription Diazepam tablets and marijuana in the residence.
He was arraigned in 91st District Court on charges of embezzlement, possession of a schedule four drug (Diazepam) and possession of marijuana. The investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests may be pending.
