UPDATE: Two people found dead after house fire

UPDATE: Wednesday, January 10th at 10:00 a.m.

The names of the two people who died in a house fire on Lincoln Avenue Monday night have been released.

The victims have been identified as 22 year-old Krista Urbanc and 23 year-old Zachary Johnson. Both of the individuals resided at the residence involved in the fire.

The Marquette Police Department, the Marquette Fire Department and the Michigan State Police Fire Marshall are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.

MARQUETTE — Two people were found dead after a structure fire in the city of Marquette on Monday night.

Officers from the Marquette Police Department and the Marquette Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1026 Lincoln Avenue at 11:35 p.m. Officials located two deceased victims inside the residence.

No further information is being released at this time. The Marquette Police Department and the Michigan State Police Fire Marshall are continuing their investigation.

The City of Marquette Public Works Department, UPHS – Marquette EMS and Marquette Township Fire Department assisted on the scene.
