Michigan Tech rated safest campus in the nation
HOUGHTON — Michigan Tech University has been named the safest campus in the nation by College Magazine, according to the Keweenaw Report.
The magazine’s website cited a long list of safety programs at Michigan Tech, including Resident Officer Program, Rape Awareness Defense, National Night Out, Fire Safety Day, and Safe Walk.
The crime rate at MTU is 53% below the national average. The article read “you hopefully won’t even need to use many of these resources.”
Other schools on the list include the University of Texas, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Brigham Young.
