MARQUETTE — A Marquette man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a rollover accident early Wednesday morning.

Officers from the Marquette Police Department were dispatched to Presque Isle Avenue and West Magnetic Street in Marquette for a rollover car accident around 12:50 a.m. The driver of the vehicle left the scene of the accident and was later located by police.

Austin Lee Hartman, 19, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without insurance and failure to report an accident. Investigation into the crash revealed that Hartman was traveling north on Fourth Street at a high rate of speed and hit a street sign while attempting to make a right turn onto West Magnetic Street. The vehicle then rolled onto its side.

Hartman was not injured in the accident and was lodged at the Marquette County Jail. He will be arraigned on December 28th.
