HARVEY –With the support of the Milk Means More program and the Michigan dairy industry, 35 schools were able to bring Jump with Jill’s show to their school, and Cherry Creek Elementary was one of the lucky winners.

The program uses music and dance styles to encourage healthy lifestyle choices such as exercising and nutrition with the help of nutritionist and musician, Jill, herself.

“Part of their stance is they try to teach the healthy nutrition and activity in the same way that advertisements try to get us to so they are going to be drawn to it. We actually learned one of the dances in P.E., it was a bone dance and they actually got into it and you can hear them singing ‘low fat milk’ in the background,” said P.E. Teacher Kathy Weycker.

The program is scientifically proven. Harvard Health claims that exercise can help stimulate memory as well as behavior.

The show doesn’t just promote a lifestyle, but also encourages that living healthy isn’t just for being fit, but fun too.
