Police investigating picture of inmate

MARQUETTE — Police have responded to a picture of a Marquette County Jail inmate that was shared on Facebook over the holiday weekend. The picture shows current inmate Ryan Whitcomb from Little Lake holding a sign that reads “Happy Thanksgiving from E-block. Now **** off!”

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department released a statement via Facebook in response to the picture. The statement reads:

“The Sheriff’s Office is aware of the picture of a Marquette County Jail inmate holding a sign being circulated on social media. The incident is being investigated for inmate visitation rule violations.”

Whitcomb was arrested on October 30th for his alleged involvement in a child abuse complaint. The 26 year-old was charged with second degree child abuse causing serious physical harm to a child, third degree child abuse and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation.
