MARQUETTE — Many people have a lot of trouble finding the motivation to workout in the winter, especially as a runner. The wintertime makes it all that much harder to commit, because running in the snow can be much different at times.
On Tuesday, you have a chance to learn how to conquer the winter while training. Queen City Running Company will be hosting a winter running and workout forum Tuesday night in Marquette to give people tips on how to stay in – or get into shape during the winter months. Experts at the forum will discuss a variety of topics.
“We’ll talk about eating right, staying healthy that way, we’ll talk about different equipment that will make running outside in the winter a lot easier,” said Kevin Thomsen, Owner of Queen City Running.
Queen City Running will stress staying healthy and accountable during the winter, which for many is the hardest time to stay healthy.
“We love staying outside for all four seasons of what the U.P. has to throw at you, so to get people excited about it, it’s tough but if we can get people outside and get them excited about it, it’s awesome, that’s what we’re here for,” said Thomsen.
The forum will take place at Queen City Running at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, followed by a short run around Marquette.
