MARQUETTE — Not only is this week a time to be thankful, but it is also a great time to add another member to your family. The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter encourages you to bring a furry friend home for the “Pawlidays” this weekend, courtesy of Zappos.com.

“All of the pets at UPAWS, in foster care, and at our PetSmart location will be a hundred percent paid for. And we are actually the only shelter in Michigan that is participating, so we’re super excited about it,” said Ann Brownell, the Community Outreach Coordinator at UPAWS.

This is one of UPAWS’s many chances to take home a furry friend at no cost to you, and it comes just in time for the holiday season.

“All of the adoptions include the spay or the neuter, the vaccines, microchip, and rabies immunization, and a lot of love,” said Brownell.

UPAWS is open from noon until four PM Friday through Sunday, and the PetSmart is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
