Structure Fire in Kingsford

KINGSFORD — Wednesday, November 15th, Kingsford Public Safety dispatched officers to the area of Marquette Blvd. and Waverly St. for what appeared to be a chimney fire.

Officers arrived at the scene at 12:06 A.M. to find a small structure fire in the backyard of 429 Waverly St. The fire was kept under control, and later extinguished, until a fire truck arrived.

It was suggested that the resident had been using a sauna and had placed hot utensils near the dry wood causing combustion. No property was reported lost in the fire.

Kingsford Public Safety officers were aided by the Iron Mountain Police.
