MARQUETTE — Although they have been open for about a year, the Lake Superior Community Partnership held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially welcome MQT Nutrition to the Marquette community.

There are many gyms in the area, but not many of them are pushing nutrition, or the “second half” of fitness. That’s where the idea for MQT Nutrition came from. The owners say they are happy to be helping people achieve their fitness goals outside of the gym.

“You know, we have a business, we’re selling products, but it’s products that are helping people be healthier and we’re helping people achieve their goals,” said owner Rick Neaves. “It’s cool to see them come back a month from now, two months from now and they’ve got a smile on their face and they’re accomplishing goals and they’re feeling better about themselves and more confident.”

“We want people to come in, hang out at the bar, we want to get to know you, we want to get to know what the journey has been. That’s been right from the start and that’s been happening,” added owner Jenna Neaves.

MQT Nutrition sells everything from power bars to protein powder, and even protein pizzas. They also have a smoothie bar and sell fresh juices and sandwiches.

To learn more about MQT Nutrition, visit their Facebook page or drop in for a visit, even if it’s just to chat about fitness. They are located on Third Street between Frosty Treats and Main Street Pizza.
