MARQUETTE–The Care Clinic of Marquette held an open house on Tuesday afternoon to showcase a brand new piece of technology.

A new ultrasound machine was delivered to the clinic in August after nearly a year of training and raising funds for the Operation Ultrasound Initiative. The local Knights of Columbus and National Supreme Council, the Livingston County Ultrasound Initiative, and the Superior Health Foundation all provided the funding for the technology. The last time the equipment was updated was back in 2005.

“Our machine was in dire need of being updated,” said Care Clinic Nurse Manager, Jocelyn Mattson. “The technology was outdated and we really wanted the ability to have ‘a’, better image quality, but also have ‘b’, better ability to store and report those images to our doctors.”

The Care Clinic also says they are extremely thankful for all of the anonymous donors that came forward to bring this new piece of technology to the facility.
