ESCANABA — As part of a $3.4 billion investment, ALDI opened a store in Escanaba, providing residents and locals to fresh new shopping experiences.

One key feature of the store is a fresh new look, which goes beyond aesthetics.

“Our customers have been extremely excited when we go in and renovate the stores, one of the key reasons we’re doing it is to be able to add new products over the next couple of years. We’ll be adding a lot of new healthy fresh products, and we’re really excited to be able to expand our brand to the customer,” said Doug Young, Director of Operations.

New products that will be hitting the shelves will be gluten-free, non GMO, and free from MSG and synthetic colors.

Customers can shop smart while keeping their wallet happy.

“We now that we’re able to serve the smart shopper, the person who want to be able to have the highest possible quality at the lowest possible price, and it’s great to see that that keeps catching on, each town that we go to,” said Young.

The opening was not taken lightly by shoppers; some were out before the sun came up. Anything for quality, right?

“To have well over a hundred people in line when you open up a grocery store is just fantastic. We have a really great, loyal group of shoppers and we’re just so happy to see how many people have come out this morning,” said Young.

ALDI announced that they would plan to expand to 2,500 stores throughout the country by 2022.
