ALGER COUNTY — The Michigan State Police Negaunee Post are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred around 1:15 a.m. Sunday on M-94 near Rumley Road.

Toopers were dispatched by Alger 911. Upon arrival, the troopers discovered a 2001 Honda Accord in the ditch.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been travelling eastbound on M-94 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then ran off the roadway and overturned.

The vehicle was occupied by a 46 year-old man from Marquette County. He suffered serious injury and was transported from the scene to UP Health Systems — Marquette.

Alcohol use is a suspected factor in the crash. It remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Rock River Township First Responders, Rock River Township Fire and Alger Med One.
