Restaurant delivers pizza to striking nurses
MARQUETTE — Local businesses have been in support of the nurses’ decision to strike, including Aubree’s Pizza.
The restaurant donated 40 pizzas to the nurses on strike today, to show their support for the people they say play an important role in the community. They heard that nearly 200 nurses were partaking, and provided 400 slices of their signature pizzas.
“Over the years we’ve had several employees come through here who were students at Northern and ended up being nurses-now they work at the hospital,” said restaurant owner, Aaron Taylor. “Right now we have two employees that are in the nursing program and want to be nurses, so we support them fully.”
Other business and local companies have also showed their support for the nurses as they fight for what they are calling unsafe conditions at the hospital, including union workers building the new hospital and Aurora Piercing Boutique.
