Local returns home after extended stay to find meth being produced in house

IRON MOUNTAIN — An investigation found that during a woman’s extended stay away from her residence, the home was being used to produce methamphetamine.

The Iron Mountain Police Department was dispatched to 116 West D Street around 10:48 P.M. on Monday, on a report of a woman returning home from an extended stay who found two people inside her house. Upon arrival, officers located a female subject in the residence, a male subject fled the scene prior to the officers arrival.

Through the investigation, it was found that while the resident was away, the home was being used to produce methamphetamine. UPSET was called to the scene to assist with cleanup and processing of the residence.

After the investigation is complete, a formal report will be submitted to Dickinson County Prosecutors Office for review and potential arrest warrants.
