Man receives probation sentence on possession charges

MARQUETTE — A case involving several drugs came to a conclusion Friday morning in Marquette County Circuit Court.

William Hebert, 60, of Gwinn, received 12 months probation and credit for jail time served on two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Hebert and another man, Lornell Mitchell, 33, were arrested by UPSET detectives in late June at a Gwinn residence.

Cocaine, heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills and cash were all recovered from the bust. Mitchell’s case was dropped by the prosecutor’s office in favor of federal drug charges in North Dakota.
